Durch die Nutzung der innovativen 3Di-Formgebung ist das Free Speed ein No-Cam-Segel, das laut North sowohl stabil als auch leistungsstark ist und dabei dennoch extrem leicht bleibt . Das 6.8 qm Segel wiegt beispielsweise nur 3,6 kg.
